HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-90-0045J-89-1112/3 1/11/90 4 _ RESOLUTION NO. -.0-009tS �j A RESOLUTION APPOINTING CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS 7i TO THE EIGHTEEN (18) MEMBER CITYWIDE —4 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY BOARD IN ACCORDANCE WITH RESOLUTION NO. 87-1006, -'! ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION NOVEMBER 19, 1987 WITH TERMS OF OFFICE FOR ALL OF SAID APPOINTEES EXPIRING SEPTEMBER 11 1990 OR AT SUCH TIME THEREAFTER AS SUCCESSOR MEMBERS ARE APPOINTED. WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 87-1006, on November 19, 1987, to expand the Community Development Advisory Board from thirteen (13) members to eighteen (18) members to advise the City Commission on community development and housing needs; and WHEREAS, said Board is comprised of the following members: One representative (resident or property owner) from each of the eight (8) Community Development target areas to be appointed by the City Commission; and Ten (10) representatives to be appointed by the City Commission, providing each Commissioner with two (2) nominations to the Community Development Advisory Board; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 87-1006 provides that terms of members of the Citywide Community Development Advisory Board shall expire on September 1 of each calendar year or at such time as successor members are appointed by the City Commission; and WHEREAS, there are eleven (11) vacancies on the Board that require an appointment by the City Commission; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The following individuals are hereby appointed to the eighteen (18) member Citywide Community Development Advisory Board as follows: CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF JA1 ; SnumnN N� r� c A. l . Section 2. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. Odio Commission Agenda Item City Manager ENCLOSURESJanuary 11, 1990 = RECOMMENDATION It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution. The proposed resolution provides for eleven (11) appointments to the Community Development Advisory Board. The present Board's term has expired as per Resolution No. 87-1006, adopted by the City Commission on November 19, 1987. BACKGROUND The Department of Community Development has prepared the attached resolution. This resolution provides for eleven (11) appointments to the ConJnunity Development Advisory Board. The Board is comprised of one representative (resident or property owner) from each of the eight (8) Community Development target areas to be appointed by the City Commission; and ten (10) representatives to be appointed by the City Commission, providing each Commissioner with two (2) appointments to the Community Development- Advisory Board, making a total of eighteen (18) Board members. Elections were held in the eight (8) Community Development -target areas to receive nominations to the Advisory Board.
