A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE CITY
MANAGER'S ACTION IN ACCEPTING THE
APPRAISALS OF R.G. DAVIS & ASSOCIATES
INC. AND LEE H. WARONKER, WARONKER AND
ASSOCIATES, INC., BOTH MEMBERS OF THE
AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF REAL ESTATE
APPRAISERS, AT A FEE OF $14,000 AND
$13,000 RESPECTIVELY, TO APPRAISE THE
FAIR MARKET VALUE OF THOSE CERTAIN
PROPERTIES KNOWN AS THE MELREESE AND
MIAMI SPRINGS GOLF COURSES, MIAMI,
FLORIDA, INCLUDING THE IMPROVEMENTS
THEREON, ALLOCATING FUNDS, THEREFOR,
FOR THESE APPRAISALS FROM THE PROPERTY
AND LEASE MANAGEMENT ENTERPRISE FUNDS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager's action in accepting the
appraisals of R. G. Davis & Associates, Inc. and Lee H. Wa.ronker,
Waronker and Associates, Inc., both members of the American
--� Institute of Real Estate Appraisers, at a fee of $14,000 and
- $13,000 respectively, to appraise the fair market value of those
certain properties, known as the Melreese and Miarni Springs Golf
Courses, Miami, Florida, including the improvements thereon, is
hereby ratified, with funds therefor hereby allocated from the
Property and Lease Management Enterprise Funds.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.

RECOMMENDATION =
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached Resolution ratifying the City Manager's action in
accepting the appraisals of R. G. Davis & Associates, Inc., and Lee
H. Waronker, Waronker and Associates, Inc., both members of the
American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers, at a fee of $14,000
and $13,000, respectively, for the appraisals of Fair Market value
of the two city -owned golf courses, namely, Melreese and Miami
Springs Golf Courses. Funds for these appraisals are being
allocated from Property and Lease Management Enterprise Funds.
BACKGROUND
The General Services Administration Department was requested to
obtain two appraisals of the Fair Market Value of the two city -
owned golf courses, namely, Melreese and Miami Springs. This was
done on an immediate basis so that the City could obtain the Fair
Market Value of its surplus property for a discussion item at the
October 26, 1989 City Commission meeting.
Solicitation was made to all MAI Appraisers listed with the City.
The two appraisal proposals of R. G. Davis & Associates, Inc., and
Lee H. Waronker, Waronker and Associates, Inc., both members of the
American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers, at a fee of $14,000
and $13,000 respectively were the most advantageous to the City and
therefore the assignment was given to these two appraisers.
Since both of these appraisals are above $4,500, General Services
Administration will require ratification of the City Manager's
action in accordance with the attached resolution to pay these
appraisers.
