A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO
NEGOTIATE AN AGREEMENT WITH CERTAIN LAW FIRMS
TO SERVE AS PRIMARY BOND COUNSEL FOR FUTURE
INDIVIDUAL CITY BOND ISSUES BETWEEN THIS DATE
AND THE DATE OF APRIL 11, 1992, WHICH
AGREEMENT SHALL BE FAIR, COMPETITIVE AND
REASONABLE IN THE JUDGMENT OF THE CITY
ATTORNEY; SHALL CONTAIN A FEE SCHEDULE WHICH
SHALL BE EQUAL OR LOWER THAN THE PRESENT FEE
SCHEDULE; AND WHICH SHALL BE IN SUBSTANTIAL
ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROPOSALS SUBMITTED BY
SAID FIRMS WHICH ARE LISTED AS FOLLOWS:
BARNES, DARBY & MCGHEE, JOINTLY WITH MATZNER
ZISKIND KOSNITZKY & JAFFEE; FINE JACOBSON
SCHWARTZ NASH BLOCK & ENGLAND; GREENBERG,
TRAURIG, HOFFMAN, LIPOFF, ROSEN & QUENTEL;
AND HOLLAND & KNIGHT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Attorney is hereby authorized to
negotiate an agreement with certain law firms to serve as primary
bond counsel for future individual City bond issues between this
date and the date of April 11, 1992, which agreement shall be
fair, competitive and reasonable in the judgment of the City
Attorney; shall contain a fee schedule; which shall be equal or
lower than the present fee schedule and which shall be in
substantial accordance with the proposals submitted by said firms
which firms are listed as follows: Barnes, Darby & McGhee,
jointly with Matzner Ziskind Kosnitzky & Jaffee; Fine Jacobson
Schwartz Nash Block & England; Greenberg, Traurig, Hoffman,
Lipoff, Rosen & Quentel; and Holland & Knight.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
