A RESOLUTION CONCERNING A CLEAN UP, FIX UP,
PAINT UP PARADE TO BE CONDUCTED BY THE, CITY OF
MIAMI COMMITTEE ON BEAUTIFICATION AND
ENVIRONMENT ON FRIDAY, MAY 11, 1990,
AUTHORIZING THE CLOSURE OF DESIGNATED STREETS
TO THROUGH VEHICULAR TRAFFIC; SUBJECT TO THE
ISSUANCE OF PERMITS BY THE DEPARTMENTS OF
POLICE AND FIRE, RESCUE AND INSPECTION
SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Committee on Beautification and
Environment will conduct a Clean Up, Fix Up, Paint Up Parade on
Friday, May 11, 1990: and
WHEREAS, certain streets must be closed to through
vehicular traffic during specified dates and hours to insure the
safety of participants and pedestrians attending this event;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. In order to effectuate safe passage during the
Clean Up, Fix Up, Paint Up Parade to be conducted by the City of
Miami Committee on Beautification and Environment the following
streets are hereby closed to through vehicular traffic from 10:30
A.M. to 12:30 P.M. on Friday, May 11, 1990 as specified below:
Flagler Street between Biscayne Boulevard and West First
Avenue.
Southeast Third Avenue between East Flagler Street and
Southeast First Street.
Included in the herein closure are all streets, avenues,
alleys, ways and thoroughfares which intersect the
enumerated areas delineated in this Section.
Section 2. Such closing of streets is subject to State
approval and issuance of permits by the Departments of Police and
Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services. Said permit from the

Chief of Police after giving ,all due consideration tn the safety
and traffic needs of residents, businesses, and religious
institutions in the area for entering and crossing through said
arterials and upon the exercise of the City Manager's judgement
predicated upon all factors set forth herein.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 12th day of April 1990.

It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached resolution authorizing the closure or certain strert.s
concerning the Clean Up. Fix Up. Paint Up Parade to be conducted

The Department of Ccmmunity Development has prepared the
appropriate legislation fer the above mentioned autho izaticnF in
connection with the Clean Up, Fix Up, Paint Up Parade tc, be
conducted by the City of Miami Committee nn Peautificction and
Environment on Fr.day, May 11, 1990.
Th:.s Parade is being held on the same route for the past 15
years.
