This corporation is composed of various community leaders and representatives of Puerto Rican agencies and organizations. During last year, this committee developed the Wynwood Festival '89, under the Wynwood Community Economic Development Corporation. It took place on Sunday, July 16, 1989 (See brochure and other enclosures). It was a street festival with booths with typical foods from various countries, with live music from well known singers and salsa orchestras, and with different events such as domino tournament, cooking contest, raffle all day, etc. This year we are in the process of developing the Old San Juan/Wynwood Festival '90 with even more enthusiasm and we need your cooperation for its success. This event will take place on Sunday, July 29, 1990. At this time, we are requesting permission for street closing, restriction of peddlers, and permission to sell beer. we would like to request that the City of Miami cover the Department costs for police security, fire safety, cleaning of streets and Parks and Recreation expenses. This event will provide much needed economic thrust for this needy area and will provide the opportunity for cultural exchange among different cultures living in Miami in addition to 'the exposure that it will generate to both, the City of Miami and the Wynwood area. By this means we would like to request 1990 agenda as a personal appearance. Sincerely, Nilsa M. Ve azq ez, President cc: Cesar Odio, City Manager to be on the May 24,
