WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received March 20, 1990 for furnishing twenty seven (27) police motorcycles to the Department of General Services Administration/Fleet Management Division to be used by the Police Department; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to ten (10) potential suppliers and two (2) bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds are available from the 1989-90 General Services Administration Department, Fleet Management Division, Operating Budget Account No. 420901-850; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of General Services Administration recommend that the bid received from Palmetto Kawasaki be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The March 20, 1990 bid of Palmetto Kawasaki in an amount not to exceed $184,653.00 for furnishing twenty-seven police motorcycles to be used by the Police Department to the General Services Administration Department is hereby accepted with funds that are available from the 1989-90 General Services Administration Department, Fleet Management Division, Operating Budget Account No. 420901-850. _ Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue a Purchase Order -' for these motorcycles. 9 s Section 4. Odlo REFERENCES: City Manager ENCLOSURES: CA=13 MAC 16 1990 FILE Resolution Authorizing Award of Bid #89-90-082 Purchase of (27) Police Motorcycles It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution authorizing the purchase of twenty-seven (27) police motorcycles to Palmetto Kawasaki of Miami, a non -minority vendor, as the lowest most responsive bidder, in accordance with Bid #89-90-082. The total cost associated with this purchase is estimated to be $184,653.00. Funds for this purchase shall be subject to the availability of funds from the General Services Administration Department, Fleet Management Division's Account #420901-850. The General Services Administration Department, Fleet Management Division has analyzed bids received pursuant to Bid #89-90-082, to purchase twenty-seven (27) 1990 police motorcycles. A total of two (2) vendors responded to this bid. As a result of our bid evaluation, it is recommended that an award be granted to Palmetto Kawasaki of Miami as the lowest most responsive bidder, in accordance with Bid #89-90-082. This purchase is estimated to be approximately $184,653.00. Funds for this purchase shall be subject to the availability of funds from the General Services Administration Department, Fleet Management Division's Account #420901-850.
