A RESOLUTION, WITH ATTACHMENTS, APPROVING A
GRANT OF EASEMENT IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED
FORM, TO METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY FOR ITS
CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE. OF A
NEW VENTURI WATER METERING STATION AND
APPURTE14ANCES ON, UNDER AND THROUGH CITY OF
MIAMI PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE OLD MACARTHUR
CAUSEWAY RIGHT-OF-WAY ON WATSON ISLAND, FURTHER
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MA14AGER TO EXECUTE SAID
GRANT OF EASEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY ,SUBJECT
`PO POSSIBLE FUTURE RELOCATION OF SAID STATION.
WHEREAS, the Miami -Dade Water & Sewer Authority Department
owns and operates a water metering station in Herald Plaza
adjacent to Interstate Highway 395; and
WHEREAS, the construction of the proposed Omni leg of the
Metromover will force the removal of the existing metering
station; and
WHEREAS, the Miami -Dade Water & Sewer Authority Department
has requested that the City permit the construction of a new
water metering station within the Old MacArthur Causeway
right-of-way on Watson Island, as shown and described on the
attached Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, the right-of-way for Old MacArthur Causeway was
deeded to the City of Miami on September 9, 1954, as per Deed
Book 3970, Page 173; and
WHEREAS, the Miami --Dade Water & Sewer Authority Department
shall provide accurate "As -Built" measurements and drawings to
the City taken from actual field information at the completion of
the new metering station construction.; and
WHEREAS, it is now in order for the City Commission to
approve the granting of the aforesaid easement to Metropolitan
Dade County and authorize the City IYiana€;er to execute said Grant
of.' Easement;

Section 2. The Grant of Easement to Metropolitan Dade
County for construction, installation and maintenance of a new
venturi water metering station and appurtenances on, under and
through City of Miami property located within the Old MacArthur
Causeway right-of-way on Watson Island is hereby approved.
Section 3. The City Manager is hereby autnorizea to
execute said Grant of Easement 11, in substantially the attached
form, on behalf of the City of Miami subject to the condition
that If and when City -owned Watson Island is redeveloped by the
City and the metering station must be relocated to accommodate
said redevelopment, then the metering station shall be relocated
by Metropolitan Dade County at no cost to the City of Miami.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.

political subdivision of the State of Florida, hereinafter called
GRANTEE;
W I T N E S S E T H
THAT, the GRANTOR, for and in consideration of the sum of ONE
DOLLAR ($1.00) and other good and valuable considerations, the
receipt of which is hereby acknowledged by the GRANTOR, has granted
and does hereby grant, to the GRANTEE, its successors and assigns,
forever, the. right, privilege and easement to construct,
reconstruct, lay, install, operate, maintain, relocate, repair,
replace, improve, remove and inspect water transmission and
distribution facilities and all appurtenances thereto, and/or

3901 in the MacArthur Causeway (S.R. AlA), this point being
Station 0 + 00 of Preliminary Survey prepared by Miami -Dade
Water and Sewer Authority Department; thence turn left 90
degrees and run westerly parallel with the centerline of
OLD MACARTHUR CAUSEWAY for a distance of 540.00 feet to the
POINT OF BEGINNING; thence turn left 90 degrees and run
southerly for a distance of 2.00 feet; thence turn right 90
degrees and run for a distance of 110.00 feet; thence turn right
90 degrees and run for a distance of 22.00 feet; thence turn
right 90 degrees and run for a distance of 110.00 feet; thence
turn right 90 degrees and run 20.00 feet to the POINT OF
BEGINNING. Containing 2420.00 square feet
The GRANTOR does hereby fully warrant that it has good title
to the above described property and that it has full power and
authority to grant this easement.

RECOMMENDATION:
It Is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached resolution granting an easement to Metropolitan Dade County
for use by the Miami -Dade Water & Sewer Authority Department on
Watson Island.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Public Works, In a continuing effort to serve all
residents of the City of Miami, is recommending the adoption of the
attached resolution granting an easement to Metropolitan Dade County
on Watson Island.
The Miami -Dade Water & Sewer Authority Department owns and operates
a water metering station In Herald Plaza adjacent to Interstate
Highway 395. The proposed Omnl leg of the Metro People Mover will
force the removal of this metering station. The Authority has
requested permission to construct a new metering station on City
owned property on Watson island.
This new metering station on Watson Island will be relocated at no
cost to the City If necessitated by future redevelopment of Watson
Island by the City.
