Noise of the City Code by deleting existing Section 36-15 and substituting in lieu thereof a new Section 36-15 entitled Mechanical and Fire Equipment, and amending Section 36-13 pertaining to construction equipment. (Items 2 and 3 are companion items). REQUEST To institute distance requirements and noise level parameters for the purpose of attenuating noise from mechanical and fire equipment. RECOMMENDATIONS PLANNING DEPT. Approval. BACKGROUND This proposal addresses an omission in the City Code, which uses an obsolete method of computing noise from mechanical equipment so that it is difficult, if not impossible, to answer complaints about noise from mechanical equipment. ANALYSIS The amendment to the City Code will establish maximum noise levels, daytime and nighttime, for all ;and uses as measured at the property line of the receiving land use and also provide revised controls for construction equipment. PLANNING ADVISORY BOARD At its meeting of March 7, 1990, the Planning Advisory Board adopted Resolution PAB 13-90 by a 9-0 vote, recommending approval of the above.
