Dear Mr. Odio:
On August 25, 1990, the Lawton Chiles Gubernatorial
Campaign will hold a major walk through Miami which will
begin in the grassy area beside the Metro rail on Douglas
Road and.U.S. 1 and end up with a rally in Bayfront Ampitheatre.
We are expecting upwards of 2,000 people showing up to
participate in this event.
We will begin securing the staging area and setting
up at 6:30 a.m. with the walk officially beginning at 8:20 a.m.
Starting from Douglas Road and U.S. 1, the procession shall.
make its way along U.S. 1 to 16th Avenue --making a left onto
16th Avenue and continuing until Beber Silverstein at 3361
SW 3rd Avenue (this is the first "Rest Area".) From Beber
Silverstein, the walk will continue up 12th Avenue to SW 8 St.,
making a right until 6th Avenue is reached. The Little Havana
Activities Center is the second "Rest Area" --it is located
on SW 8-Street and.6 Avenue. From the Activities Center, the
walk will proceed to the final large rally at the Bayfront
Ampitheatre by taking.6th Avenue to Flagler Street, crossing
the bridge down Flagler, and finally crossing Biscayne to reach
the Ampitheatre. The program at the Ampitheatre is expected
