V-g 2,1 W— I 9.1 - Project Description The International/Jose Marti YMCA is an 11,500 square foot structure in the Art Deco style. It was.constructed in the 192 0's and served as a Jewish community center prior to'ite purchase as YMCA in the 1960's. The Y has deteriorated over time to a point where its major systems are all below code as are its gymnasium floor, windows, and program areas. The renovation as outlined in the program description would enable all areas to comply with City, County and HRS requirements but also elevate the number of people served on a daily basis to 200. The exterior facade of the facility would be renovated as well in keeping with the goal of beautifying the Little Havana area. The renovated facility would also be rentable for community functions.
