WHEREAS, sealed bids were received May 29, 1990, for LITTLE HAITI C.D. PAVING PROJECT; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Public Works recommend that the bid of MIRI CONSTRUCTION, INC., be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; and WHEREAS, the 1990 Capital Improvement Ordinance No. 10642, was adopted on September 28, 1989, and monies are available for the proposed amount of the contract, project expense, and incidentals under Project No. 341177 of said Ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDAs Section 1. The May 29, 1990 bid of MIRI CONSTRUCTION, INC., in an amount not to exceed $441,766.50, for the project entitled LITTLE HAITI C.D. PAVING PROJECT, for the total bid of the proposal, based on unit prices, is hereby accepted at the price stated therein. Section 2. An amount not to exceed $441,766.50 is hereby allocated from the 1990 Capital Improvement Ordinance No. 10642, Project No. 341177 to cover the cost of said contract. 3 �s X4 «. Section 3. The project consists of the construction of approximately 0.85 miles of streets in the area bounded by Miami Avenue and N.E. 1 Avenue between N.E. 54 Street and N.E. 5$ Street.- - Construction will include the following: clearing & grading, construction of asphaltic pavao t, concrete curbs and gutters, concrete sidewalks, storm sewer facilities and landscaping. Bidders are alerted to the provisions of Ordinance No. 10539 regarding allocation of contracts to minority wridors. The City will expect prospective bidders to submit an Affirmative Action Plan, as defined in said Ordinance, and as required in the Instructions to Bidders. The City of Miami has adopted Ordinance No. 10032, which implements the "First Source Hiring Agreement." The object of this ordinance is to provide enplgyment opportunities to City of Miami residents on contracts resulting in the creation of now permanent jobs.
