The recitals and findings set forth in the Ptdidible to• this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section Section 2. The donation from Continental Properties, Incin .the amount of $15,o0o, is hereby accepted towards the beautification and improvement of the Pan American Drive entrance to Dinner Key. Section 3. An additional amount not to exceed $25,000 is hereby allocated from the account entitled "Coconut Grove Exhibition Center - Renovation and Expansion", Capital Improvement Project No. 415002, to cover the cost of implementing the City's design to beautify and improve Pan American Drive which implementation shall be accomplished using applicable City Code procurement provisions. BACKGROUNDr. The Department of Public Works has formulated a proposed. plan :to refurbish and beautify Pan American Drive, from South Bayshore Drive to City Nall, as the main access road to the Miami City hall, as • well as to the newly developed Dinner Key Marina and Coconut Grove Convention Center. The implementation of this plan will not exceed S251,0001, and funds are available from monies remaining from the" contingencies on the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center - Renovation and`Expansion, CIP Project No. 415002. At its neeting of January 8, 1987, the City Commission adopted a motion authorizing the administration to negotiate with Continental { Rropertias, Inc, for the donation to the City in the r amount of $15,000 towards the furnishing and installation of new signage and landscaping at the intersection of South Bayshore Drive and Pan American Drive. It is now in order for the City Commission to adopt the attached resolution which accepts the donation of $15000 from Continental Prope,r ip#, Inc,, and allocates an amount not to exceed $25,000 from monies remaining from the contingencies on the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center - Renovation and Expansion, to cover the contr# cost of the proposed improvements to the center madian.
