SERVE AS'A MEMBER ON THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
CITY OF MIAMI GENERAL EMPLOYEES' AND
ANZIMMOlU EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT TRUST FOR
' TMM REMAINDER OF A TERM OF OFFICE AS PROVIDED
FOR BY ORDINANCE NO. 10002, APPEARING IN THE
CITY CODE AS SECTION 40-227.
WHEREAS, an appointment needs to be made to the City of
Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement
Trust Board of Trustees to fill a vacancy and serve the remainder
of a term of office as specified herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The following individual is hereby appointed
as a member of the City of Miami General Employees' and
Sanitation Employees' Retirement Trust Board of Trustees to serve
the remainder of a term of office which expires
November 30, 1991:

Enclosed herein please find a copy of R-90-609 which was pass4
and adopted by the City of Miami Commission at its meeting held
on July 26, 1990, appointing you to the Board of Trustees of the
City of Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees'``'
Retirement Trust.

Pursuant to the Financial Disclosure law, Chapter 84-318(3), Laws
of Florida, and as a member of the Retirement Trust Board, you
will be required to file a Statement of Financial Interests,form
with the Supervisor of Elections, Dade County Department. of
Elections. Their address is: Metro Dade Center, 19th Floor, 111
N.W. 1st Street, Miami, Florida 33130 (Tel: 375-5553).
Sections 2-305 through 306 of the City of Miami Code require all
elective and appointive officers or employees of the City to
submit to the City Clerk a Statement of Real Property Owned by
him/her, whether the title be either legal or equitable, whether
owned in whole or in part, as well as a Statement of Corporate
I Real Property in which he/she has a controlling interest, or is
an.officer. Enclosed herein please find a copy of said forms to
fill out. Kindly complete and return them to us at your earliest
.convenience.
Also enclosed is a copy of a memorandum from Jorge L. Feinandezr'.
City Attorney, dated October 11, 1988, outlining some guidelines -
to assist members of City Boards and Committees in complying with

the Government in the Sunshine Law.
Also enclosed, for informational purposes, is another memorandum
from the City Attorney, dated April 3, 1989 on legal requirements
concerning Conflict of Interest and Dual Office Holdiog,

RECOMMENDATION. `
It is recommended that the City Commission appoint one elected
trustee. member as a member of the City of Miami General. Employees
and Sanitation Employees Retirement Trust_to serve the remaining
term of off its ' n place of the resigning board of trustee member.
The remaining term of office will cover the period June 1 i', 1990
through and including November 30, 1991. Attached is a prepared
resolution.in accordance with Ordinance No. 10002
BACKGROM:
City of Miami Code Section 40-227 (Ordinance No. 10002)j provides for
the appoirtment of a nine member board of trustees to administer, and
manage the retirement plan known as the "City of Miami General
Employees' and Sanitation Employees Retirement Trust". Of these
nine members, one is to be selected by the City Manager., two by, the
general am loyees (APSCME bargaining unit), and two by. the sanitatic�
�employees SZA'bargaining unit). Four independent trustees, who are tJ,
not City employees, are to be selected by the City Commission.
Mr. David Sims, President of the SEA, has advised that Me.herss '
Pollock has sab>sitted her resignation as a board of trub' 3e `meager ,
and that Ma. Crystal Woods has been appointed as an elected tx�ietee = E
of the aforementioned Retirement Trust 'for the.'remainin term o
office (June 11, 1990 through and including Novexber 30, 190 4)
