T 1 5' J-90- 706 0/20/96 9 0 -_ 6'� s RESOLUTION NO. �i A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TWENTY-THRNE THOUSAND (23,000) CURSSIOE RECYCLING CONTAINERS UNDER EXISTING PALM _C BEACH COUNTY SIb NO. 189-085 FROM REHRIG PACIFIC COMPANY FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF SOLID - WASTE AT A TOTAL COST NOT TO EXCEED ` FUNDS THEREFOR , & GREDUCTION THE FY0 904 SOLID WASTE t RECYCLING i EDUCATION SPECIAL GRANT FUND, PROJECT _ NOr 197002, ACCOUNT CODE NO. 320305A840; =_ AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THESE CONTAINERS, SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. WHEREAS, the Department of Solid Waste wishes to purchase twenty-three thousand (23,000) curbside recycling containers - needed for the expansion of the City residential recycling = program under existing Palm Beach County Bid No. 89-085 from the Rehrig Pacific Company in order to ensure the expenditure of FY-90 Recycling Grant Funds by September 30, 1990 at a total cost not to exceed $77,740.00; and WHEREAS, it is estimated that by purchasing these containers under this existing bid, the City can save approximately $37,260.00 and meet the September 30, 1990 .deadline as required pursuant to Florida Department of Environmental Regulation Grant Rule ,.17-716; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available from the FY-90 Solid Waste Reduction; Recycling & Education Grant Fund, Project No. 197002, Account Code No. 320305-840; and - WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Directors of the Department of Solid Waste and General Services Administration recommend that the purchase of said containers from the Rehrig Pacific Company be approved; U-0 a NOW THS"PoRRs, tit IT RROOLVEb BY THE COMMISSIOm or TNO CI or Mlngt PtMIDAI Section i. City `= curbside recycling program. In order to secure the expenditure,.} of FY-90 recycling grant funds, it is recommended that the award = be made to Rehrig Pacific Company under an existing Palm 'Be at, County Bid No. 89-085.
