Re: Parks & Recreation &
Celebration Excursions of Miami
Dear Cesar:
In reference to,the dinner boat Celebration, we have been trying to get
cooperation from the Department of Parks & Recreation for the past '6 months
for the placement of a booking booth at Dinner Key Marine, Coconut Grove. We
have received no support or success in our efforts. Instead` -we have received.
6 months of run arounds and excuses of who is responsible to do what.
Therefore, we are requesting a hearing with the commissioners for. -the
September 27. 1990 meeting. We have exhausted all avenues with Parks' &
Recreation and were referred to the Commissioners for a-publie- hearing from
Parks & Recreation tom -September 5. IM.
-. The issues we wou2d-3ike to bring up are: _
F
1.) Location and approval of a booking booth for the Vessel
;
"Celebration".
2.) Acceptance of donation for the construction costs for the project
from Celebration Excursions of Miami, Inc.
3.) A permanent dockage agreement at Bayside Marketplace, Miamarina.
Time In of essence for a successful operation for this project which
will interconnect Miami's marinas. Unfortuntaly I will be out of town in the
month of Octobere bringing the vessel down to Miaai and cannot attend a
F
October meeting.
Thank you in advance for your special consideration in this matter.

Albert Ruder, Director
Department of Parks and Recreation
1390 N.M. ith St.
Miami, Florida 33125 RE: Dinner Cruise Boat.
"Celebration"
Dear Mr. Ruder: {
- Unfortunately, I am being forced to write this letter. I have tried ='
working with the Department of Parks and Recreation for the past 6 months on
a -booking booth' for the dinner cruise boat, Celebration, at Diener Key
Marina, Coconut Gro*e; and for the past 2 1/2 years on a permanant dockage
agreement at Bayside Marketplace, Miamarina. I have received no cooperhtion
or encouragement from the City of Miami. However, all I have received are
broken promises, arguments, excurses and finally directions to take it to,tht
Miami Commissioners.
Therefore, I've enclosed a copy of request to be heard at
Commissioners Meeting this month for your review.
- I'm really saddened_ that we cannot get the support of the Department. vf_
a=ks and Recreation or the Cite of- Mfaai fbr such an asset the Celeebration
would make to the comunity. What is even harder to believe Is that we_'csnl
construct a million dollar party -dinner vessel in lass time and `aggervatioa i
then erect a simple booking booth and obtain a permenant dockage agreameinC is ihk-
= Mismarina from the City of Miami.
Our anticipated arrival to Miami is November 5, 1990 with plans to stag'
on a year round basis, however we need the the support of the City and your w
department to make this a successful venture for all concerned.
Frustrated and Dissappointed,
- Michael A. Dudile
