RESOLUTION NO. 9 0- 798
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO
THE CITY ATTORNEY, WITH CARIBBEAN CENTRAL
AMERICAN ACTION, INC., IN SUPPORT OF THE 1990
MIAMI CONFERENCE ON THE CARIBBEAN TO BE HELD
DECEMBER 4-7, 1990, WITH FUNDS THEREFOR NOT
TO EXCEED $60,000 BEING ALLOCATED FROM
BUDGETED FY'90-91 INTERNATIONAL TRADE BOARD
FUNDS, SAID LIKE AMOUNT BEING AUTHORIZED AS A
TRANSFER FROM THE FY'90-91 SPECIAL PROGRAMS
AND ACCOUNTS, CONTINGENT FUND.
WHEREAS, the City's International Trade Board recommends
that the City Commission continue its support of the "Miami
Conference on the Caribbean" for 1990, an event organized by the
Caribbean Central American Action, Inc. (C/CAA); and
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that this event will draw over
2,000 participants including various United States and foreign
dignitaries; and
WHEREAS, the Commission funded the 1989 Miami Conference on
the Caribbean in the amount of $60,000, during the 1989-90 Fiscal
Year; and
WHEREAS, this event provides benefits in the form of income
to host countries, business contacts to area firms, and
international stature for Miami;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute an agreement, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney,
with Caribbean Central AmeriUa Action, Inc., in support of the
1990 Miami Conference on the Caribbean, to be held December 4-7,
1990, with funds therefor not to exceed $60,000 being hereby
allocated from budgeted FY'90-91 International Trade Board Funds,
said amount being hereby authorized as a transfer from the FY190-
91, Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund.

ITEM 475 - Luncheons 6 Dinners
This year, as in past years, the grant from the City Of Miami
will be applied to the meal functions held during the Miami
Conference on the Caribbean. The meal functions serve to
provide the participants of the Conference with an opportunity
to hear directly from the'various heads of state and government
officials. Presented below is a partial list of the invited
speakers:

The general internal accounting controls established by C/CAA Dave been found
to be adequate to safeguard its assets and ascertain the accuracy of the accounting
records. These same controls will be•used to ensure adequate financial control
and accounting of the City of Miami funds.

3) Documentation of internal financial controls and letter
from certified public accountant verifying accounting
