Home My WebLink AboutR-90-0845J-90-957 10/25/90 A RESOLUTION NO. y - `*'1 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF MAROONE - CHEVROLET, HOLLYWOOD, FLORIDA, FOR THE - FURNISHING OF EIGHTY (80) POLICE PURSUIT VEHICLES TO BE USED BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AT THE COST OF $972,560.00, WITH FUNDS THEREFOR BEING ALLOCATED FOR THIS PURCHASE FROM THE FY'90-91 ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT/FLEET MANAGEMENT DIVISION OPERATING BUDGET, PROJECT NO. 509000, ACCOUNT CODE NO. 420901-880, SAID ACQUISITION TO BE FINANCED THROUGH THE MANUFACTURER UNDER A 36-MONTH LEASE PURCHASE PLAN; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS PURCHASE, - SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. - WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received October 15, 1990 for the furnishing of eighty (80) police pursuit vehicles for the Department of Environmental Services and Operations Management; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to fifteen (15) potential suppliers and one (1) bid was received; and WHEREAS, initial funds for this purchase are available from the FY'90-91 Department of Environmental Services and Operations Management/Fleet Management Division, Project No. 509000, Account Code No. 420901-880, which purchase will be financed through the manufacturer under a 36-month lease purchase plan; and WHEREAS, these vehicles will be used by the Police Department as pursuit patrol vehicles; and i WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Environmental Services and Operations Management recommend i ! that the bid received from Maroone Chevrolet be accepted as the i only and therefore the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: CITY CC)1,11MSSI0N b4EETINC OF OCT 25 19`� i Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The October 15, 1990 bid of Maroone Chevrolet for the furnishing of eighty (80) police pursuit vehicles at the proposed cost of $972,560.00 is hereby accepted with initial funds therefor being hereby allocated from FY'90-91 Department of Environmental Services and Operations Management/Fleet Management Division Operating Budget, Project No. 509000, Account Code No. 420901-880, with said the purchase being financed through the manufacturer under a 36-month lease purchase plan, subject to the availability of funds. Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue a purchase order for these vehicles. Section 4.
