A RESOLUTION APPOINTING CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS)
TO THE CITY OF MIAMI AFFIRMATIVE ACTION
ADVISORY BOARD.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The following individuals are hereby appointed
as members to the City of Miami Affirmative Action Advisory
Board, for a term(s) to expire September 6, 1992:

Enclosed herein please find a copy of R-90-841 which was passed
and adopted by the City of Miami Commission at its meeting held
on October 25, 1990, appointing you to serve on the City of Miami
Affirmative Action Advisory Board.
Also enclosed is a copy of a memorandum from Jorge L. Fernandez,
City Attorney, dated October 11, 1988, outlining some guidelines
to assist members of City Boards and Committees in complying with
the Government in the Sunshine Law.
Also enclosed, for informational purposes, is another memorandum
from the City Attorney, dated April 3, 1989 on legal requirements
concerning Conflict of Interest and Dual Office Holding
circumstances which may prohibit your membership in said bodies.

the Appointment of
Individuals to the
Affirmative Action

ENCLOSURES:
It is respectfully recommended the City Commission adopt the
attached resolution authorizing the appointment of three
individuals to serve on the Affirmative Action Advisory Board.
BACKGROUND:
At the present time, three (3) vacancies exist on the Affirmative
Action Advisory Board. These three vacancies were filled at the
City Commission meeting of June 7, 1990. However, Mr. Manolo
Minagorri and tor. Humberto Amaro failed to meet the residency
requirements, and Mr. Ralph Garcia -Toledo, Jr. declined the
nomination. Therefore, two (2) additional appointments are
required of Mayor Suarez and one by Commi ss ioner Mi riam Al onso.
In accordance with administrative policy, I am notifying you of
the above so that you may appoint members to the Board as
provided for in Section 1 of Ordinance No. 9139.
