HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-90-09069 0 J-90-1023 11/8/90 RESOLUTION NO. 90- 006 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO SELL TO THE SISTER CITIES OF SAN JOSE, IN THE REPUBLIC OF COSTA RICA, AND SANTO DOMINGO, IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, UPON THE EXECUTION OF APPROPRIATE RELEASE DOCUMENTS, TWENTY-SIX (26) SURPLUS POLICE PATROL MOTORCYCLES AT THE NEGOTIATED TOTAL PRICE OF $50,000, AS PROVIDED IN SEC. 18-51.4 OF THE CITY CODE, THE NEGOTIATED PRICE BEING EXCLUSIVE OF TRANSPORTATION AND SHIPPING COSTS WHICH SHALL BE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE RECEIVING CITIES. WHEREAS, the Police Departments of the Sister Cities of San Jose, in the Republic of Costa Rica, and Santo Domingo, in the Dominica Republic, have need of a total of twenty-six (26) Police Patrol Motorcycles to assist them in their efforts of deterring crime; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami has twenty-six (26) surplus Police Patrol Motorcycles available for sale to those Sister Cities at a total negotiated price of $50,000, exclusive of transportation and shipping costs; and WHEREAS, Sec. 18-51.4 of the City Code allows for such negotiated sales of surplus City equipment to Sister Cities; and WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Commission that these twenty-six (26) surplus Police Patrol Motorcycles be sold to the Sister Cities of San Jose and Santo Domingo for the negotiated total price of $50,000 with the former municipality receiving 22 of said vehicles; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. =Y COMMISSION MEETING OF NOV 8 1990 Section 2. The City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to sell to the Sister Cities of San Jose, in the Republic of Costa Rica, and Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic, twenty (26) surplus Police Patrol Motorcycles for the total negotiated amount of $50,000, upon the execution of the appropriate release documents. Section 3. The costs of transportation and shipping shall be borne by the Sister Cities in accordance with Section 18-51.4 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
