Home My WebLink AboutR-90-0873t � J-90-921 11/08/90 RESOLUTION NO. 90- 873 A RESOLUTION REJECTING ALL BIDS RECEIVED BY THE CITY IN CONNECTION WITH THE REPLACEMENT OF THE AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM AT FIRE STATION NO. 7, BID NO. 89-90-167; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO SEEK NEW BIDS FROM SUCH NEW SOURCES, BASED ON SUCH SPECIFICATIONS AS HE DEEMS APPROPRIATE FOR THE PROCUREMENT OF SAID SUPPLIES, AND TO BRING BACK SAID SOURCES AND SPECIFICATIONS TO THE CITY COMMISSION FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received August 27, 1990 for the replacement of the air- conditioning system at Fire Station No. 7 for the Department of Environmental Services and Maintenance Division; and Operations Management/Property WHEREAS, despite the City Manager and the Director of Department of Environmental Services and Operations Management/Property Maintenance Division having recommended that certain bids received be accepted, the City Commission is not convinced that sound procurement principles were fully utilized 7 in this proposed acquisition; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. All bids received by the City in connection with the replacement of the air-conditioning system at Fire Station No. 7, Bid No. 89-90-167, are hereby rejected. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby directed to seek new bids from such new sources, based on such specifications as he deems appropriate for the procurement of said air-conditioning system, and to bring back said sources and specifications to the City Commission for its review and approval. The total cost for this contract is estimated to be $17,216, in which funds are available from the Capital Improvement Project #313018 Account Code No. 289401-850 of the Department of Fire, Rescue, and Inspection Services. The Environmental Services and Operational Management Department has analyzed the bids received pursuant to Bid No. 89-90-167, for the replacement of the air-conditioning system at Fire Station V . Responsive bids were received from four (4) companies; one (1) Hispanic, one (1) Black, and two (2) non -minority. Airko Service, Inc., a non -minority company located at 7400 NE 4 Court, Miami, was the lowest responsive bidder at a cost of $17,216, and thus recommended for an award of bid. The two (2) lowest bids, i.e., Weathertrol Maintenance Corporation ($14,900) and Sam L.
