1 4 4 J-90-837 11/8/90 RESOLUTION NO. 9 U— 872 A RESOLUTION CONDITIONALLY ACCEPTING THE BID OF JULES BROTHERS UNIFORMS FOR THE FURNISHING OF WORK UNIFORMS TO VARIOUS CITY DEPARTMENTS ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR WITH THE OPTION TO EXTEND FOR FOUR (4) ADDITIONAL ONE-YEAR PERIODS AT THE PRICES STIPULATED ON BID NO. 89-90-129 FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE VARIOUS CITY DEPARTMENTS FY-90/91 OPERATING BUDGETS AS NEEDED; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS FOR THIS SERVICE AS NEEDED AND ALSO THEREAFTER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXTEND THIS CONTRACT ANNUALLY, SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS; FURTHER REQUIRING THAT PRIOR TO ISSUANCE OF ANY PURCHASE ORDERS SAID FIRM SHALL AGREE TO SUPPLY UNIFORMS TO PROPERLY FIT BOTH FEMALE AND MALE EMPLOYEES. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received June 20, 1990 for the furnishing of work uniforms to various City departments on an as needed basis for a period of one (1) year with the option to extend for four (4) additional one-year periods for the Department of General Services Administration; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to twenty-six (26) potential suppliers and two (2) bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for these purchases will be available from the FY'90/91 Operating Budgets of the various City departments as needed; and WHEREAS, this service will be used to replace worn-out work uniforms and to furnish uniforms to new employees at various City departments as needed; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of General Services Administration recommend that the bid received from Jules Brothers Uniforms be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; CITY COMMISSION MEEMG OF y N 0 V 8 1990 ''1 RuKuna po90 — 8 7 2 1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The June 20, 1990 bid of Jules Brothers Uniforms for the furnishing of work uniforms on an as needed basis for various City departments for a period of one (1) year with the option to extend for four (4) additional one-year periods at the prices stipulated on Bid No. 89-90-129 for the Department of General Services Administration is hereby accepted, with funds therefor to be allocated from the various City departments FY'90/91 Operating Budgets. Section 3. As a condition precedent to this award, said firm shall agree to supply uniforms to properly fit both female and male employees. Section 4. As provided herein, the City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue Purchase Orders for this service as needed and thereafter to extend this contract annually, subject to the availability of funds. Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
