HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-90-0952J-90-1002 11/21/90 RESOLUTION NO.9 0 - 952 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF LEADEX CORPORATION, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1599943.00, BASE BID OF THE PROPOSAL, FOR ALLAPATTAH-COMSTOCK PARK -LIGHTING (SECOND BIDDING); WITH MONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED FROM THE 1991 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT ORDINANCE NO. 10782, PROJECT N0. 331309, IN THE AMOUNT OF $159,943.00 TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST; AND $37,472.00 TO COVER THE ESTIMATED EXPENSES, FOR A TOTAL OF $197,415.00; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM. WHEREAS, sealed bids were received October 23, 1990, for ALLAPATTAH-COMSTOCK PARK -LIGHTING (SECOND BIDDING); and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Public Works recommend that the bid from LEADEX CORPORATION, be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; and WHEREAS, the 1991 Capital Improvement Ordinance No. 10782, was adopted on September 27, 1990, and monies are available for the proposed amount of the contract, project expense, and incidentals under Project No. 331309 of said ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The October 23, 1990, bid of LEADEX CORPORATION, in an amount not to exceed $159,943.00, for the project entitled Allapattah-Comstock Park -Lighting (Second Bidding), for the base bid of the proposal, based on lump sum and unit prices, is hereby accepted at the price stated therein. Section 2. The total project cost of $197,415.00 is hereby allocated from the 1991 Capital Improvement Ordinance No. 10782, Project No. 331309. The project consists of installing new sports lights, poles and wiring at Allapattah-Canstock at 2803 N.W. 17 Avenue. Bidders will furnish perfannanoe and bid bonds in aaz darroe with resolutions No. 86-90 and no. 97 915. For technical issues as presented in the drawings and specifications, please contact Grover Larkins, at (3%)579-6865. Prospective bidders will be required to sthmit, with their bid a copy of the appropriate certificate of Carpet►, as issued by Bade County, which authorizes the Bidder to perfdnz the proposed wont. All bids shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and Specifications. New City regulations will require each bidder to submit proposals in duplicate originals. Plans and Specifications may be obtained from the office of the Director of Public WoKs, V N.W. Street, 3rd floor, Miami, Florida, 33128, on or after September 27, 1990. If bidders wish, a set of plans and specifications will be mai 1 ed to them by writing to the Department of Public Worsts and including a separate check for $8. There will be a $20 deposit required for the first set of plans and specs >ca ions. AdditionTsets may be purchases for a fee of $2D per set and this is not refundable. Deposits will be refunded only upon the return of are set of plans and specifications to the Department of public Works, urmarked and in good condition within two (2) weeks after the opening of the bids. Bidders are alerted to the provisions of Ordinance No. 105M regarding allocation of contracts to minority vendors. This certification process crust be completed prior to the Affirmative Action Plan, as defined in said Ordinance, and as required in the Instructions to Bidders. The Ci iiy of Miami has adopted Ordinance No. 10032, which implements the "First Source Hiring Agreement." The object of this ordinance is to provide emplWrent opportunities to City of Miami residents on contracts resulting in the creation of new permanent jobs.
