BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The following individuals are hereby reappointed as members of the City of Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement Trust Board of Trustees to serve terms of office to expire on November 30, 1992: Section 2. ODIO City Manager Enclosed herein please find a copy of R-90-948 which was passed and adopted by the City of Miami Commission at its meeting held on December 6, 1990, reappointing you to serve on the Board of Trustees of the City of Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement Trust. Pursuant to the Financial Disclosure law, Chapter 84-318(3), Laws of Florida, and as a member of the General and Sanitation Employees' Retirement Trust, you will be required to file a Statement of Financial Interests form with the Supervisor of Elections, Dade County Department of Elections. Their address is: Metro Dade Center, 19th Floor, 111 N.W. 1st Street, Miami, Florida 33130 (Tel: 375-5553). Sections 2-305 through 306 of the City of Miami Code require all elective and appointive officers or employees of the City to submit to the City Clerk a Statement of Real Property Owned by him/her, whether the title be either legal or equitable, whether owned in whole or in part, as well as a Statement of Corporate Real Property in which he/she has a controlling interest, or is an officer. Enclosed herein please find a copy of said forms to fill out. Kindly complete and return them to us at your earliest convenience. Also enclosed is a copy of a memorandum from Jorge L. Fernandez, City Attorney, dated October 11, 1988, outlining some guidelines to assist members of City Boards and Committees in complying with the Government in the Sunshine Law. Also enclosed, for informational purposes, is another memorandum from the City Attorney, dated April 3, 1989 on legal requirements concerning Conflict of Interest and Dual Office Holding circumstances which may prohibit your membership in said bodies. Odlo REFERENCES: City Manager ENCLOSURES: t RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Commission reappoint three members as members of the City of Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement Trust as per attached Resolution. BACKGROTM: a City of Miami Code Section 40-,227(A), (Ordinance No. 10002), provides for the appointment of a nine member board of trustees to administer and manage the retirement plan known as the "City of Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement Trust". Of these nine members, one is to be selected by the City Manager, two by the general employees (AFSCME bargaining unit), and two by the sanitation employees ( SEA bargaining unit) . Four independent trustees are to be selected upon recommendation, by the two bargaining units, by the City Commission. Mr. David Sims, President of the SEA, has submitted the names of Mr. T. Willard Fair and Me. Betty McKnight, for reappointment to the Pension Board (see attached letters). The term of office would begin on December 1•, 1990 and expire on November 30, 1992. Mr. Charles Cox, President of AFSCME, has submitted the name of Ms. Rose Gordon for reappointment to the Pension Board (see attached letter) .
