WHEREAS, on May 12, 1988, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 10437, establishing a seventeen member International Trade Board; and WFm:c?m, in May, 1988, the City Commission designated Mr. Herbert J. Bailey to serve as the City Administration representative and also designated fifteen individuals to serve as Board members for terms of office expiring June 30, 1990; and WHEREAS, on July 13, 1989, the City Commission adapted Ordinance No. 10609 amending Section 2-422 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, concerning the International Trade Board to provide for five alternate Board members with terms of office expiring June 30, 1990; and WHEREAS, on February 14, 1991, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 10843, which increased the member of members and alternate members of the International Trade Board; and WHEREAS, it is now appropriate to appoint and/or reappoint certain individuals to serve as Chairperson, City Administration representative, members, and alternate members of the International Trade Board for terms of office expiring June 30, 1992; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CWKSSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, Ft.IO Dh: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Premmble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. W, t Section 2. J.L. Plug, Jr. is hereby appointed to serve as Chairperson to the International Trade Board for a term of office to begin July 1, 1991 and expire on June 30, 1992. Section 3. City Manager or his designee is hereby appointed to serve as the City Administration representative to the International Trade Board for a term of office to begin July 1, 1991 and expire on June 30, 1992. Section 4. Odi June 20, 1991 FROM : City Manager REFERENCES: Commission Meeting ENCLOSURES: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution appointing certain individuals to serve as members and alternate members on the International Trade Board for terms of office to begin July 1, 1991 and to expire June 30, 1992. On May 12, 1988, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 10437 establishing a fifteen member International Trade Board and appointing Mr. Herbert J. Bailey as the City Administration representative. The primary purpose of the Board is to advise the City on projects, mechanisms, regulations and facilities necessary for the development and enhancement of international trade and commerce. One member of the Commission serves as Chairman of the Board on a rotating basis. On July 13, 1989, the Commission adopted Ordinance No. 10609 amending Section 2-422 of the City Code concerning the International Trade Board, to provide for five alternate members with terms of office expiring June 30, 1990. On February 14, 1991, the Commission adopted Ordinance No. 10843, which increased the number of members and alternate members of the International Trade Board.
