RESOLUTION NO. 91-~ 592
A RESOLUTION OFFICIALLY CLOSING, VACATING,
ABANDONING AND DISCONTINUING THE PUBLIC USE OF
THOSE PORTIONS OF NORTHWEST 37TH AND 38TH
STREETS LYING EAST OF THE EAST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE
OF NORTHWEST 19TH AVENUE AND WEST OF THE WEST
RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF NORTHWEST 17TH AVENUE; THAT
PORTION OF NORTHWEST 18TH AVENUE LYING SOUTH OF
THE SOUTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF NORTHWEST 39TH
STREET AND NORTH OF NORTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF
5
NORTHWEST 36 STREET; ALSO THAT NORTH -SOUTH ALLEY
LOCATED IN THE BLOCK BOUNDED BY NORTHWEST 38TH
AND 39TH STREETS AND NORTHWEST 18TH AND 19TH
AVENUES, MIAMI, FLORIDA; SUBJECT TO AGREEMENT
BY DADE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD THAT THE DADE COUNTY
SCHOOL BOARD SHALL PAY ALL EXPENSES RELATED TO
THE SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER'S PROGRAM, SAID
CLOSURE, ABANDONMENT AND DISCONTINUANCE BEING A
CONDITION FOR THE APPROVAL OF TENTATIVE PLAT NO.
1386-A "MIAMI JACKSON HIGH SCHOOL".
WHEREAS, the Miami Zoning Board at its regular meeting of
February 11, 1991, Item No. 2, following an advertised hearing, -
adopted Resolution No. ZB 9-91 by a seven to zero (7-0) vote,
RECOMMENDING official vacation and closure of certain portions of
streets and certain alleys as herein set forth, in accordance with
all recommendations of the Plat and Street Committee, subject to
review and approval by staff of revised disclosure information; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that it is in the best

interest of the general welfare of the City of Miami and its 4;
inhabitants to grant the vacation and closure of certain portions
of streets and certain alleys and deems it advisable to do so;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto
and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.

Section 2. Those portions of Northwest 37th and 38th
Streets lying East of the East right-of-way line of Northwest 19th
Avenue and West of the West right-of-way line of Northwest 17th
Avenue; that portion of Northwest 18th Avenue lying South of the
South right-of-way line of Northwest 39th Street and North of North
right-of-way line of Northwest 36 Street; also that North -South
alley located in the block bounded by Northwest 38th and 39th
Streets and Northwest 18th and 19th Avenues, Miami, Florida, are
hereby closed, vacated, abandoned and discontinued for public use,
subject to agreement by Dade County School Board that the Dade
County School Board shall pay all expenses related to the School
Resource Officer's Program, said closure, vacation, abandonment and
discontinuance being a condition for the approval of Tentative Plat
No. 1386-A - "Miami Jackson High School".
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its adoption.
