RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUPPORT OF THE ANNE FRANK
EXHIBITION, AND ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR, IN AN
AMXW NOT TO EXCEED $7 , 500, FROM THE LAW ENFORCEMNT
TRUST FUND, SUCH COSTS HAVING BEEN APPROVED BY THE
CHIEF OF POLICE.
WHEREAS, Florida State Statute 932.704(3)(a), as amended, authorizes 'the
expenditure of forfeiture proceeds for law enforcement purposes not considered
normal operating expenses; and
WHE YM, the City of Miami supports those groups opposed to unlawful
discrimination and racism in any form; and
WHEREAS, the Anne Frank Exhibit, "Anne Frank in the World", which
examines the rise of Adolf Hitler and the historical development of Nazi
Germany is being brought to the Miami area; and
WHEREAS, the goal of this exhibition is to insure that society never
again permits the denial of basic human rights and freedoms and the herein
allocation will be used to provide training materials and transportation for
approximately 2,000 Inner City Students to attend the Exhibit; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has recommended adoption of this Resolution
and has determined that the expenditures proposed comply with Florida State
Statute 932.704, as amended; and
W79WM, funds to cover the above expenditure have not been included in
the Police Department's normal operating budget but are available in the City
of Miami. Law Enforcement Trust Fund;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CIU'WSSICN OF THE CITY OF MUM,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to
this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated
herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Support of the Anne Frank Exhibition is hereby
authorized, with funds therefor in an amount not to exceed $7,500, being
hereby allocated from the City of Miami Law Enforcement Trust Fund, Project
No. 690001, Index Code 029002-247, such costs having been approved by the
Chief of Police.

Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its adoption.

Resolution Supporting the Anne
Frank Exhibition
It is respectfully recommended that a Resolution authorizing the
support of the Anne Frank Exhibition, with a contribution of
$7,500, funding to be from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, be
approved.
The Police Department supports the efforts of those groups that
oppose discrimination and racism in any form. The Anne Frank
Steering Committee has been instrumental in bringing the "Anne
Frank in the World" exhibition to the Miami area. This
exhibition examines the rise of Adolf Hitler and the --historical
development of the Nazi era. Its goal is to insure that society
will never again permit the denial of basic human rights and
freedoms. The City of Miami Police Department's contribution
will be used to provide training materials and transportation for
approximately 2,000 inner city students to the exhibition.
It is, therefore, recommended that the Resolution authorizing the
support of the Anne Frank Exhibition, at a cost of $7,500,
funding to be from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, Project No.
690001, Index Code 029002-247, be approved.

that this request for expenditure from the City of Miami Law
Enforcement Trust Fund, for the support of the Anne Frank
Exhibition, at a cost not to exceed S7 500, complies with the
