(� 0 1 A RESOLUTION CLASSIFYING ONE HUNDRED (100) SURPLUS SOLID WASTE CONTAINERS, ONE (1) SURPLUS SWEEPER, FIVE (5) SURPLUS RUBBISH TRUCKS, ONE (1) SURPLUS FRONT END LOADER AND SIX (6) SURPLUS GARBAGE PACKING TRUCKS AS CATEGORY "A" SURPLUS STOCK, AND DONATING THE SAME, AFTER THE EXECUTION OF THE APPROPRIATE RELEASE DOCUMENTS, TO THE SISTER CITY OF MANAGUA, IN THE REPUBLIC OF NICARAGUA, SUCH DONATION TO BE VALID AND EFFECTIVE BETWEEN SEPTEMBER 11, 1991 AND SEPTEMBER 10, 1992, SAID EQUIPMENT TO BE USED BY THE CITY OF MANAGUA IN ITS MUNICIPAL SANITATION EFFORTS WITH ALL TRANSPORTATION, PACKING, AND SHIPPING COSTS TO BE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CITY OF MANAGUA. WHEREAS, the Sister City of Managua, in the Republic of Nicaragua, has need for assistance in its municipal sanitation efforts; and WHEREAS, the Sanitation Department of the City of Managua is in need of equipment to be used in its municipal sanitation efforts; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami has one hundred (100) surplus solid waste containers, one (1) surplus sweeper, five (5) surplus rubbish trucks, one (1) surplus front end loader and six (6) surplus garbage packing trucks that could be used for just such a purpose; and WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Commission that the above -noted surplus equipment be donated to the Sister City of j Managua, in the Republic of Nicaragua; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. One hundred (100) surplus solid waste containers, one (1) surplus sweeper, five (5) surplus rubbish trucks, one (1) surplus front end loader, and six (6) surplus garbage packing trucks are hereby classified as Category "A" Surplus Stock; as stipulated in Section 18-51.4 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended. Section 3. Within the period of September 11, 1991 and September 10, 1992, said Category "A" surplus stock is hereby donated, upon the execution of the appropriate release documents, to the Sister City of Managua, in the Republic of Nicaragua, said equipment to be used by the Sanitation Department of the City of Managua in its municipal sanitation efforts, with all costs of transportation, packing, and shipping be borne by the Sister City of Managua. Odi REFERENCES : City Manager ENCLOSURES.: Proposed Resolution RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution classifying one hundred (100) surplus solid waste containers, one (1) surplus sweeper, five (5) surplus rubbish trucks, one (1) surplus front end loader, and six (6) surplus garbage packing trucks as Category "A" Surplus Stock and donating same to the Sister City of Managua, in the Republic of Nicaragua. BACKGROUND: The Sister City of Managua, in the Republic of Nicaragua, has need for assistance in its municipal sanitation efforts and has requested the equipment to be used for such a'purpose.
