ORDINANCE NO. 10 919
AN ORDINANCE DEFINING AND DESIGNATING THE
TERRITORIAL LIMITS FOR THE CITY OF MIAMI FOR
THE PURPOSE OF TAXATION; FIXING THE MILLAGE
AND LEVYING TAXES IN THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING
OCTOBER 1, 19911 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30,
1992; CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, the Dade County Property Appraiser estimates that
the nonexempt valuation of taxable property, both real and
personal in the City of Miami, Florida, for the fiscal year
beginning October 1, 1991, and ending September 30, 1992 is
$11,173,078,751; and
WHEREAS, at an election held September 2, 1925, the City of
Miami did annex certain territory unincorporated at the time of
such election and did annex certain other territory incorporated
at the time of such election; and
WHEREAS, from time to time other territory has been included
in the corporate limits for the City of Miami by legislative
acts;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. For the purpose of this Ordinance the "City of
Miami" is defined to be, includes, and designates the City of
Miami as it now exists with its extended territorial limits as
set forth in the paragraphs prefatory hereto.
Section 2. There shall be and hereby are levied upon the
nonexempt assessed value of all property, both real and personal,
in the City of Miami as described in Section 1 hereof, taxes at
the rate reflected below for the fiscal year beginning October 1,
1991 and ending September 30, 1992, for the following purposes:
(a) A tax of 9.5995 mills on the dollar for the
General Fund.

(b) A tax of 2.3308 mills on the dollar to provide for
the payment of maturing principal and interest,
and charges and requirements related thereto, of
indebtness incurred subsequent to the adoption of
the Homestead Exemption Amendment to the
Constitution of the State of Florida, and subject
to the terms thereof.
Section 3. This proposed millage rate herein adopted
exceeds the "rolled back" rate by 1.89%.
Section 4. If any section, part of sections, paragraph,
clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance shall be held to be
unconstitutional or void, the remaining provisions of this
Ordinance shall nevertheless remain in full force and effect.

It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached ordinance establishing tentative millage rates for the
Fiscal Year ending September 30, 1992.

The City Commission at its July 25, 1991 Commission Meeting
adopted a Resolution 91-569 establishing proposed FY192 millage
rates for the City of Miami.
The proposed FY192 millage rates for the City of Miami (General
Operating and Debt Service) are outlined below:

The proposed FY192 millage rate for the City of Miami is 9.5995
which is the same rate as the current fiscal year. This pro osed
rate is 1.89 percent over the rolled back rate. p

Miami is 2.3308 which is .0073 mills lower than the current rate
of 2.3381.
