HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-91-0751H_ E J--91-853 10-3-91 RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION GRANTING THE REQUEST RECEIVED FROM REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ROSE OF SHARON MINISTRIES, INC. RELATED TO "FIRE IN THE CITY CRUSADE" FOR THE CLOSURE OF DESIGNATED STREETS TO THROUGH VEHICULAR TRAFFIC ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 1991; SUBJECT TO STATE APPROVAL AND TO THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS BY THE DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE AND FIRE, RESCUE AND INSPECTION SERVICES; FURTHER CONDITIONING ALL APPROVALS AND AUTHORIZATIONS GRANTED HEREIN UPON THE ORGANIZERS PAYING FOR ALL NECESSARY COSTS OF CITY SERVICES ASSOCIATED WITH SAID EVENT AND OBTAINING INSURANCE TO PROTECT THE CITY IN AN AMOUNT AS PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1: The request of the Rose of Sharon Ministries, Inc. related to "Fire in the City Crusade", an event to be held on Saturday, November 2, 1991, for the closure of designated streets in accordance with the route approved by the Police Department, is hereby granted. Section 2. In order to effectuate safe passage during said event, the following streets are hereby closed to through vehicular traffic from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., on Saturday, November 2, 1991, as specified below: Northwest Fifteenth Avenue from Sixty-fourth Street to Sixty-seventh Street. Included in the herein closure are all streets, avenues, alleys, ways and thoroughfares which intersect the enumerated areas delineated in the Section. Section 3. Such closing of streets is subject to State approval and issuance of permits by the Departments of Police and Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services. Said permit from the Department of Police is to be issued upon the full approval of the Chief of Police after giving all due consideration to the safety and traffic needs of residents, businesses and religious institutions in the area for entering and crossing through said =A!K(EK"DE1D) BY a )1�57 Cr f COV34MON M WING OF OCT s 1991 9 1 - "75"1 arterials and upon the favorable exercise of the City Manager's judgment predicated upon all factors set forth herein. Section 4. The herein approvals and authorizations are hereby conditioned upon the organizers paying for all costs of necessary City services associated with said event and obtaining insurance to protect the City in an amount as prescribed by the City Manager or his designee.
