Pursuant to Article II, Section 8 of the Florida Constitution and/or Dade County Ordinance No. 77--13, as a member of the Affirmative Action Board, you will be required to file a Source of Income Statement form with the Dade County Supervisor, Elections Department. Also enclosed, for informational purposes, is another memorandum from the City Attorney, dated April 3, 1989 on legal requirements concerning Conflict of Interest and Dual Office Holding circumstances which may prohibit your membership in said bodies. O d i o REFERENCES City Manager Ef iCLCSURES RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended the City Commission adopt the attached resolution authorizing the appointment of three (3) individuals to serve on the Affirmative Action Advisory Board. BACKGROUND: The Department of Internal Audits and Reviews respectfully requests the appointment of three individuals to the Affirmative Action Advisory Board. At the present time, Hispanics, Anglos and females are underrepresented on the Board, comprising 36% Hispanics, 9% Anglos and 36% females, compared to 59%, 19% and 46%, respectively, of the City of Miami general population. Currently, three (3) vacancies exist on the Board. Mr. John Bennett, appointed by Commissioner Dawkins, does not wish to serve again. Ms. Frankie Rolle, appointed by Commissioner Alonso, and Mr. Richard Nussel, appointed by Commissioner Plummer, have resigned. �� n accordance with administrative policy, I am notifying you of the above so that you may confirm and appoint members to the Board as provided for in Section 1 of Ordinance No. 9139. The Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church is relocating me to another church in the Northern part of Florida. As I will no longer be a resident of the City of Miami it is necessary for me to resign. I want to thank you and the City of Miami for the opportunity to serve on the Affirmative Action Advisory Council. I hope that I have been able to contribute something back to the community that I have grown to love. The experience of working with Dr. Daniels and the members of the Council over the last three years has been richly rewarding.
