HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-10924J-91-723 9/4/91 ORDINANCE No. 10924 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "EMS FIRST AID RESOURCE TRAINING (FY'92)11; APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION OF SAME IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,453, IN THE FORM OF A GRANT FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND REHABILITATIVE SERVICES; AND A LIKE AMOUNT AS FOLLOWS: $12,941 FROM FY'91-'92 GENERAL FUND: DEPART OF FIRE, RESCUE AND INSPECTION SERVICES; AND $12,512 IN - KIND MATCH OF SALARIES; FOR A TOTAL APPROPRIATION OF $50,906; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. WHEREAS, the City applied for a grant of $25,453 from the State of Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services under the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Matching Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the matching grant is to support the purchase of the pre - hospital services and items associated with such activity; and WHEREAS, the Department of Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services desires to retain one (1) Part -Time Accident and First Aid Resource Teacher to train teachers and students in accident prevention and first aid treatment, utilizing a matching grant of $25,453; and WHEREAS, the State of Florida, Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services under Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Matching Grant Program has offered the City of Miami a $25,453 grant-in-aid to implement purchase of pre - hospital services and items as outlined in the City's matching grant proposal and in the Preamble to this Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the Commission of the City of Miami., per Resolution No. 91 -6 28 , accepted said grant-in-aid, and the City Manager executed the grant agreement: NOW, 'THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MI m FLORIDA: Section 1. OF FIRE, RESCUE AND $12,941 INSPECTION SERVICES IN -KIND MATCH OF SALARIES, $12,512 SERVICES & EQUIPMENT APPROPRIATION: EMS FIRST AID RESOURCE TRAINING (FY'92) $50,906 Section 2. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 4. BACKGROUND: The' Department of Fire, Rescue and inspection Services has been awarded a matching grant from the State of Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services to retain one (1) part-time Accident and First Aid Resource Teacher.
