RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE EMOLUMENTS AND
EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS OF A. QUINN JONES, III,
CITY ATTORNEY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, Jorge L. Fernandez resigned as City Attorney for
the City of Miami, effective August 30, 1991; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Fernandez, after officially informing the City
Commission, designated Deputy City Attorney A. Quinn Jones, III,
to serve as interim City Attorney, effective August 31, 1991, to
hold said office until such time as the City Commission may
appoint and elect an individual. as City Attorney; and
WHEREAS, on September 11, 1991, the City Commission adopted
Resolution No. 91-602 appointing Deputy City Attorney A. Quinn
Jones, III, as Acting City Attorney commencing 9:00 A.M. on said
date and further ratified, confirmed and approved all actions
taken by Mr. Jones as of August 31, 1991; and
WHEREAS, on October 3, 1991, the City Commission adopted
Motion No. 91-700, which established the emoluments and
employment benefits for the individual to be appointed and
elected as City Attorney of the City of Miami, Florida; and
WHEREAS, on October 3, 1991, pursuant to Resolution
No. 91-701, A. Quinn Jones, III, was appointed and elected as the
City Attorney of the City of Miami, Florida;

WHEREAS, on October 3, 1991, pursuant to Resolution
No. 91-701, A. Quinn Jones, III, was appointed and elected as the
City Attorney of the City of Miami, Florida;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. A. Quinn Jones, III, shall be paid an annual
salary of Ninety-six Thousand Dollars ($96,000). He shall also
receive $2,500 per year as a discretionary expense account. All
business -related travel expenses including subsistence shall be
paid by the City in addition to the above.
Section 3. A. Quinn Jones, III, shall be entitled to
thirty (30) working days vacation per year which may be
accumulated year to year. Also he is entitled to the same number
of days of sick leave as all other City employees.
Section 4. The City shall pay annual membership costs as
well as initiation fees for such professional associations and in
one luncheon club to be selected by A. Quinn Jones, III.
Section 5. The City shall pay a car allowance of $400.00
per month, in addition to automobile insurance reimbursement of
$1,200.00 per fiscal year.
Section 6. The City shall provide and pay for a term
life insurance policy and a disability income insurance policy
for A. Quinn Jones, III, in accordance with the provisions of the
Executive Benefit Plan afforded all City executive employees.
Hospital, surgical and comprehensive medical and dental insurance
shall be provided for A. Quinn Jones, III, and his dependents in

accordance with the provisions of the Executive Benefit Plan
afforded all City executive employees.
Section 7. A. Quinn Jones, III, may continue to
participate as a member in the ICMA Deferred Compensation program
to which the City shall contribute an amount equal to eight
percent (8%) of his salary and he shall contribute ten percent
(10%) of his salary.
Section 8. The aforementioned emoluments and employment
benefits shall become effective as of October 3, 1991.
