RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $100,000 FOR THE RESTORATION OF THE
MILDRED AND CLAUDE PEPPER FOUNTAIN, LOCATED
IN THE MILDRED AND CLAUDE PEPPER BAYFRONT
PARK, MIAMI, FLORIDA, WHICH WAS DAMAGED BY
SEVERE FLOODING RESULTING FROM HEAVY
RAINSTORMS, WITH FUNDS THEREFOR BEING
ALLOCATED FROM BAYFRONT PARK CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS.
WHEREAS, severe flooding resulting from heavy rainstorms on
October 8 through October 10, 1991, caused significant water and
electrical damage to switch gear equipment and also disturbed the
AC/DC computer electrical rectifier that control the entire
computerized section of the Mildred and Claude Pepper Fountain
("Fountain"); and
WHEREAS, to repair the existing damage and to prevent
further damage to the Fountain, immediate emergency repairs must
be made to electrical cabinets, destroyed trough drain valves,
water pumps and semi -conductors computerized chips that powers
the entire Fountain system; and
WHEREAS, the amount of $100,000 is required to meet the
emergency repair costs for said Fountain;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1. An amount not to exceed $100,000 is hereby
allocated for the restoration of the Mildred and Claude Pepper
Fountain, located in the Mildred and Claude Pepper Bayfront Park,
Miami, Florida, which was damaged by severe flooding resulting
from heavy rainstorms, with funds therefor hereby allocated from
Bayfront Park Capital Improvement Projects.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 14th of November 1991.
