ISSUANCE OF THE NECESSARY LIABILITY INSURANCE COVERAGE
UNDER THE CITY''S SPECIAL EVENT INSURANCE POLICY FOR
THIS EVENT; SUBJECT TO AND CONDITIONED Uri SUCH
LIMITATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS AS MAY BE PRESCRIBED BY
THE, ADMINISTRATION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MiAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The waiver of dockage fees for available slips at Miamarina
in an amount not to exceed $11,900 is hereby authorized for participants in
the National Safe Boating Week event sponsored by the U. S. Coast Guard
Auxiliary, BASE - South Florida, from 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. on June 8, 1991
and from 8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. on June 9, 1991.
Section 2. The issuance of necessary liability insurance coverage under
the City's special event insurance policy for this event is hereby -authorized.
Section 3. Such waiver and authorizations are hereby subject to and
conditioned upon the sponsor's compliance with such limitations and
requirements as may be prescribed by the Administration of the City,of Miami.
Section 4.,This Resolution shall become effective im-ediately upon its
adoption.:

The U.S. Coast Guard=Auxili.arl, BASE -South Florida, and the
local National Safe Boating Council have been working with
BAYSIDE-Marketplace and the City of Miami Bayfront.Park venue
for this year's National Safe Boating Week, June 2 to 8.
We respectfully request that an item relating to this event be
placed on the City of Miami Commission agenda for May 22nd
pertaining to the dates of Saturday June 8 and Sunday June 9.
This includes:
1) Since this is a pubic event, a request for waiver of docking fees for al available slips
during those days between the hours of &00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m
e 2) Waiver for the insurance for the same days.
Metropolitan Miami is host to one of the largest recreational
boating populations in the world serving both the local
community as well as many visitors.. It is a population that
continues to increase with a variety of.products ranging from
canoes and personal watercraft to speed boats and yachts.
The U.S." Coast Guard Auxiliary is the volunteer component of

the U. S'.,._Coast _ Guard. Our primary obi ective is reduce the
risk.; oflossof life, personal injury, property damage`
associated with.use,of recreational boats and, overall, improve
boating safety,s fostering greater development,; use and:
