Home My WebLink AboutR-91-0358J-91-357 04/29/91 RESOLUTION NO.� A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF MARKS BROTHERS, INC., IN THE PROPOSED AMOUNT OF $193,997.50, TOTAL BID OF THE PROPOSAL, FOR ORANGE BOWL AREA SANITARY SEWER PROJECT - PHASE I B-5591; WITH MONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED FROM THE FISCAL YEAR 1990-91 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT ORDINANCE NO. 10782, PROJECT NO. 351287, IN THE AMOUNT OF $193,997.50 TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST AND $36,225.50 TO COVER THE ESTIMATED EXPENSES, FOR AN ESTIMATED TOTAL COST OF $230,223.00; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY. WHEREAS, sealed bids were received April 9, 1991, for ORANGE BOWL AREA SANITARY SEWER PROJECT - PHASE I B-5591; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and ?;he Director of the Department of Public Works recommend that the bid from MARKS BROTHERS, INC., be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; and WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 1990-91 Capital Improvement Ordinance No. 10782, was adopted on September 27, 1990, and monies are available for tf�e proposed amount of the contract, project expense, and incidentals under Project No. 351287 of said Ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. The April 9, 1991, bid of MARKS BROTHERS, INC., in the proposed amount of $193,997.50, for the project entitled ORANGE BOWL AREA SANITARY SEWER PROJECT - PHASE I B-5591 for the total bid of the proposal, based on lump sum and unit prices, is hereby accepted at the price stated therein. Section 3. The total estimated project cost of $230,223.00 is hereby allocated from the Fiscal Year 1990-91 Capital Improvement Ordinance No. 10782, Project No. 351287. Said total project cost consists of the $193,997.50 contract cost and $36,225.50 estimated expenses incurred by the City. Section 4. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contractl/ on behalf of the City of Miami with MARKS BROTHERS, INC., for ORANGE BOWL AREA SANITARY SEWER PROJECT - PHASE I B-5591, total bid of the proposal. Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. The project is located an N.W. 6 Street from N.W. 13 Avenue to N.W. 14 Avenue and on N.W. 14 Avenue from N.W. 4 Street to N.W. 5 Street. The construction will include: Approximately 1700 linear feet of 8-inch to 24-Inch polyvinyl chloride pipe sewer with the deepest cut being 1& feet; Approximately 1000 linear feet of 6-1nch extra heavy cast iron soil pipe or C-900 P.V.C. laterals; Approximately 7 manholes from 4 to 18 feet in depth; SidewalK and pavement replacement in construction area. Plans and specifications may be obtained from the office of the Director of Public Woms, 21 N.W. 2 Street, 3rd floor, Miami, Florida, 33128, on or after March 21, 1991. If bidders wish, a set of plans and specifications will be mailed to than by writing to the Department of Public Works and including a separate checK for $8. There will be a $20 deposit required for the first set of plans and sp icow ons. Additional sets may be purcfsed for a fee of $ZD per set a—n -Ms is not refundable. Deposits will be refunded only upon the return of ate set of plans and specifications to the Department of Public Works, unmarked and in good condition within two (2) weeKs after the opening of the bids.
