HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-91-0166J-91-249 3/11/91 RESOLUTION NO. 91- 166 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION WAIVING ANY CONDITIONS IMPOSED BY THE COMMISSION IN RESOLUTION NO. 89+-830, ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 14, 1989, IN REGARD TO ITS PLEDGE OF CONTRIBUTIONS IN THE AMOUNT OF $300,000 PER YEAR FOR THE NEXT FIVE YEARS IN SUPPORT OF THE NEW TRAUMA CENTER BEING BUILT ON THE GROUNDS OF JACKSON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL. WHEREAS, Jackson Memorial Hospital is building a trauma center in the City of Miami; and WHEREAS, this Commission pledged, in Resolution No. 89-830, adopted on September 14, 1989, contributions in the amount of $300,000 per year for five (5) years in support of said Trauma Center, subject to certain conditions stated therein; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to waive the performance of those previously -imposed conditions and now wishes to pledge the funds without any restrictions; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Miami City Commission hereby endorses and applauds the concept of building a trauma center on the grounds of Jackson Memorial Hospital. Section 3. The Commission hereby ratifies all of the actions it previously approved as set forth in Resolution No. 89-830 except that it wishes to waive the requirements ti c; conditioning its pledge which were set forth in Section 2 of said s` Resolution.
