RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AMENDING SECTION 2 OF RESOLUTION
NO. 90-523, ADOPTED JULY 12, 1990, WHICH
APPROVED THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A PLAN TO
INLAY PLAQUES ALONG A PORTION OF SOUTHWEST
8TH STREET BETWEEN SOUTHWEST 12TH AVENUE AND
SOUTHWEST 17TH AVENUE TO HONOR INTERNATIONAL
ARTISTS, SPORTS FIGURES AND OUTSTANDING
INDIVIDUALS OF THE LATIN COMMUNITY, TO
PROVIDE BY SAID AMENDMENT THAT THE SUBMISSION
OF NOMINEES' NAMES TO THE CITY COMMISSION
SHALL TAKE PLACE NO LESS THAN SIXTY (60) DAYS
PRIOR TO THE DATE OF CITY COMMISSION
CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL FOR THE ISSUANCE OF
A PLAQUE PERMIT HONORING SUCH NOMINEE;
FURTHER, APPROVING CERTAIN NOMINEES TO BE
HONORED WITH THE INSTALLATION OF A NAME
PLAQUE ON THE "LATIN STARS WALK".
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 2 of Resolution No. 90-523, adopted
July 12, 1990, is hereby amended in the following particulars:
"Section 2. Implementation of a plan, in a
form acceptable to the City Attorney, to inlay
plaques along a portion of Southwest 8th Street
between Southwest 12 Avenue and Southwest 17
Avenue to honor international artists, sports
figures and outstanding individuals of the Latin
community, is hereby approved upon the condition
that there be compliance with all City, County and
State regulations and upon prior approval of all
"Latin Stars" nominees by the City Commission

names by the City Commission shall take place no

remaining provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged.

Section 2. The names of international artists, sports
figures and outstanding individuals of the Latin community
submitted by Latin Starts, Inc. to be, honored in the future with
the installation of a plaque in their names, as listed below, are
hereby approveds

Rolando Laserie
Benny More
Leopoldo Fernandez
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
