RESOLUTION NO. 9 1 - 142
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF FIVE
(5) RECYCLING COLLECTION VEHICLES UNDER DID
NO. 89-90-143 FROM MUNICIPAL SALES AND
LEASING, INC. FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF
ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES AND OPERATIONS
MANAGEMENT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$244,625.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM
THE SOLID WASTE REDUCTION; RECYCLING AND
EDUCATION SPECIAL REVENUE GRANT FUND (FY'91);
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE
CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE
ORDER FOR THIS EQUIPMENT SUBJECT TO THE
AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS.
WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were
received July 18, 1990 for the furnishing of recycling collection
vehicles for the Department of Environmental Services and
Operations Management; and
WHEREAS, these vehicles are needed to provide additional -
support for the expansion of the City residential recycling
program, with the addition of these trucks, weekly curbside
recycling services currently provided to 30,000 homes will be
properly adjusted to support the unanticipated high levels of
citizens participation in the current voluntary recycling
program; and
WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available from the
Solid Waste Reduction; Recycling and Education Special Revenue
Grant Fund (FY'91); and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Administrator of the
Department of Environmental Services and Operations Management
recommend that this purchase be approved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this

Section 2. The purchase of five (5) recycling collection
vehicles from Municipal Sales and Leasing Inc. in an amount not
to exceed $244,625.00 is hereby accepted with funds therefor
hereby allocated from the Solid Waste Reduction; Recycling and
Education Special Revenue Grant Fund (FY191).
Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
instruct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue a Purchase Order
for this equipment, subject to the availability of funds.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
