Odio REFERENCES: City Manager ENCLOSURES: RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that an award be made and a resolution be passed accepting the bid of Dynatech Building Systems Corporation, in the amount of $19,888, for the furnishing of a prefab structure, and an additional allocation in the amount of $10,638 be made from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund to cover the unanticipated increase in cost. BACKGROUND: The Police Department was authorized to go out for bids on I.D. equipment by Resolution No. 90-599. The bid on the Prefab Structure came back $10,638 more than had been estimated. The department has analyzed the bids received on October 16, 1990, for, the furnishing of this structure. This equipment will be utilized to properly examine and process vehicles for evidence collection in a controlled environment. Dynatech Building Systems Corporation, provided the most responsive bid, in the amount of'$19 888 On September 26,- 1990, invitations for sealed bids were sent to 3 prospective vendors. Bids were opened on October 15, 1990, with two..(2.) vendors submitting bids, one (1) vendor submitting a "no - bid" and one (1) vendor submitting a non -responsive bid. is Although the bid of Space Master Builders was the lowest, they fl did, -.not meet -the Department's specifications for the construction` is of the structure. Their shed is on wheels and cannot accommodate rye; a vehicle for processing. Dynatech is a woman minority vendor, `n located at 9628 NE 2nd Ave, Suite E, Miami Shores, Florida, 33138, and provided the next lowest bid meeting the department's requirements and specifications.
