The Police Department has analyzed the bids received on November 26, 1990, for the furnishing of 3 Safes, as authorized by Resolution No. 90-337. This equipment will be utilized by the u Property Unit for the storage of money and narcotics pending forfeiture litigation. On November 7, 1990, invitations for sealed bids were sent to (— prospective vendors. Bids were opened on November 26, 1990, with three (3) vendors submitting bids. None of the bidders are located within city limits and all are located within Dade County. B & I Safe and Lock Co. is a woman minority business 1 enterprise but the bid is 58% higher than the recommended vendor.? Miami Safe Co. only. bid on one item and its installation cost , exceeds the recommended vendor's bid on the same item.
