RESOLUTION NO. _..
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FUNDING FOR THE
PURCHASE OF COMPUTER EQUIPMENT FOR THE
NORTHEAST SUB -COUNCIL CRIME PREVENTION
PROGRAM; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR, IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EMCEED $10,000, FROM THE LAW
ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND, SUCH COSTS HAVING
BEEN APPROVED BY THE CHIEF OF POLICE WITH
SAID PURCHASE TO BE MADE IN COMPLIANCE WITH
APPLICABLE CITY CODE PROCUREMENT PROVISIONS.
— WHEREAS, Florida State Statute 932.704(3)(a), as amended,

- authorizes the expenditure of forfeiture proceeds for crime
prevention education and law enforcement purposes not considered
normal operating expenses; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Police Department supports these
programs; and '—
WHEREAS, the Northeast Sub -Council will utilize these
computers in its Crime Prevention Program to track crime
statistics, assist in publishing a newsletter, and maintaining
membership records; and —
WHEREAS, these computers will be located in the Legion Park
and Edgewater police mini -stations; and
= WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has recommended adoption of
this Resolution and has determined that the expenditures proposed
_ comply,with,Florida State Statute 932.704, as amended; and.
WHEREAS,
funds to cover the necessary expenses required for
this program are available in the City of Miami Law Enforcement

It is respectfully recommended that a Resolution be passed for
the funding for the purchase of computer equipment for use by the
N.E." Sub Council in their Crime Prevention Program, at an
estimated cost of $10.000. Funding is to be from the Law
Enforcement Trust Fund.

The Miami Police Department supports those efforts which
encourage crime prevention. The Department is therefore,
requesting funding to the N.E. Sub -Council for the purchase of
computer equipment which will be used to track crime statistics,
assist in publishing a newsletter, and maintaining membership
records in the northeast section of the City. These computers
