FOR FURNISHING TWELVE (12) STX PORTABLE RADIOS IN THE AMOUNT Or $33+000.00 AND PEACOCK RADIO AND WILDS COMPUTER SERVICES, INC. FOR FURNISHING 700 PORTABLE RADIOS KEY PADS IN THE AMOUNT OF $62,160.00 TO BE USED BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT FOR A TOTAL PROPOSED AMOUNT OF $95,160.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND INTEREST EARNINGS, PROJECT NO. 312014 ACCOUNT NO. 299401-840; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE PURCHASE' ORDERS FOR THIS EQUIPMENT. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received November 21, 1990 for the furnishing of twelve (12) STX Portable Radios with 151A Programming and 700 Radio Key Pads (front portable radio covers) for the Department of Environmental Services and Operations Management/Communications Division to be used by the Police Department; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to fourteen (14) potential suppliers and three (3) bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this equipment are available from the Police Department General Obligation Bond Interest Earnings Project No. 312010, Police Mobile Digital Terminal Refinement, Account No. 299401-640; and WHEREAS, STX Radios with 151A Programming are required to Mt interface properly with the City's existing radio system and are used to provide secure voice communications to police personnel, which are critical to public safety, health and welfare; and H. s�= ;WHEREAS, Key Pads (front portable radio covers) are necessary to upgrade the existing police radios and to add the "Call Alert" feature; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Administrator of the Department of Environmental Services and Operations Management recommend_;.that the bide received from Motorola Communicatione and { Tnc, and PeacockRadio and Wilds Computer Servicea�` _'7 n�' 4ccepted as tWmoist responsible and responsive tide v Jam'• i - iiw rAML ' " r 'A - r. vows TNE1'terom, at IT NESotwo Rat THE COMMISSION DP THE CITY or 10 AMI, PLORtbA3 . .
