BACKGROUND: The Department of Parks and Recreation has prepared the attached legislation. This plan, based on earlier community input, includes expansion of the existing recreation building, the relocation and enlargement of the baseball field, a new combination soccer -football field, a new playground, playing court renovations, a new picnic area with shelters, walkways, irrigation, landscaping and site lighting. 35-1 91--- 50 IDEC- 1 6-90 TIDE 1 eo9 PARKS&REC P 02 Honorable Meyyppr and I Members of t,hh City Commission Page 2 The recent experience of the community in this area of the City demonstrates o critical need for adequate leisure activities and recreational 'opportun.itiew.
