AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-422 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, CONCERNING THE INTERNATIONAL TRADE BOARD, BY ADDING FIVE (5) NEW REGULAR MEMBERS AND FIVE (5) NEW ALTERNATE MEMBERS; MODIFYING THE QUORUM REQUIREMENT AND THE NUMBER OF VOTES REQUIRED FOR BOARD ACTION; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. WHEREAS, the Internat' nal Trade Board, w ch was established on May 12, 1 , b Ordinance No. 1 7, consists of seventeen (17) mem and WHEREAS, the a bership is com ise� individuals who enjoy an stan 'n reputation with t Ci and are devoted to the bett rme a advance n o �in ernational trade in the City; and WHEREA many outstandi ndividuals have expressed an interest in becoming members of the Board; and WHEREAS, the Board members are very active in numerous community and civic associations, as well as being committed to their various professions and occupations, which often require them to be out of the City; and WHEREAS, this amendment is intended to facilitate the conduct of regular meetings by the Board by adding five (5) additional regular members and five (5) additional alternate members to the Board who will attend the Board's meetings and shall be available to replace any member who may be absent, in order to allow the Board to vote on the matters before it and do all things necessary to enhance the Board's ability to promote the City as an international trade center; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
