RESOLUTION NO,
A R98OLUTION RELATED TO THE KING ORANGE BOWL
JAMBOREE PARADE TO BE CONDUCTED BY THE ORANGE
BOWL COMMITTEE, INC. ("THE COMMITTEE") ON
DECEMBER 31, 1991, PROVIDING FOR THE CLOSURE
OF DESIGNATED STREETS TO THROUGH VEHICULAR
TRAFFIC AND ESTABLISHING A PEDESTRIAN MALL
SUBJECT TO THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS BY THE —
DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE AND FIRE, RESCUE AND
INSPECTION SERVICES, FURTHER ESTABLISHING AN
AREA PROHIBITED TO RETAIL PEDDLERS DURING THE
PERIOD OF THE EVENT; SUBJECT TO AND
CONTINGENT UPON THE COMMITTEE'S COMPLIANCE
WITH SUCH CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONS AS MAY
BE PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY OF MIAMI, INCLUDING
OBTAINING INSURANCE TO PROTECT THE CITY IN r
THE AMOUNT AS PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER
OR HIS -DESIGNEE; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ENTER AN AGREEMENT, IN A FORM
ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, WITH THE
COMMITTEE FOR THE STAGING OF THE PARADE FOR A
PERIOD.= OF FIVE (5) YEARS, SUBJECT TO
CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONS CONTAINED HEREIN
AND IN THE CITY CODE.
WHEREAS, the Orange Bowl Committee, Inc. will 'conduct then
Ring Orange Bowl Jamboree Parade ("Parade") on December 31, 1991;
and
WHEREAS, certain streets shall be closed to vehicular
traffic and vending restrictions shall apply during specified
dates and hours 'to'`insure the safety of the participants and
pedestrians attending -this event; and

Section 1, The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto- and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section'2• In order- to > effectuate safe passage and
establish a, -temporary pedestrian mall during the King Orange Bowl
Jamboree Parade,the following streets. are hereby closed to
through vehicular traffic from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on
Tuesday- December 31 .1991, as specified below:
Biscayne Boulevard from Northeast _13th-Street to East ;
Flagler Street.
Flagler Street from Biscayne Boulevard to North River
Drive: =
Northeast lath Terrace from Northeast 2nd Avenue o
Biscayne. Boulevard.
Entrance ramp to eastbound I-395 from Biscayne

Included` in` the: herein closure are all streets,
avenues, alleys, ways and thoroughfares which intersect
the enumerated areas delineated in this Section.

Section 4. Pursuant to the provisions of the City Code
Section.39-13 611'retail peddlers' occupational licenses issued
under the provisions of Chapter 31 of the City Code, as amended.,
;
will not be valid on Tuesday, December 31, 1991, during the hours
of 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on the above designated streets.and on
all- intersecting streets for two blocks in all directions
("Designated Area"). In the Designated Area, companies duly
licensed by the City for this event will be permitted to
a
advertise -their products and only distribute free samples to the
public. -
Section S. The aforementioned authorizations are hereby,
subject to and contingent upon the Committee's compliance with
any and all conditions and limitations as may be prescribed by
the Administration of the. City of Miami, including obtaining
insurance..to:protect the City in the amount as prescribed by the
CityI4'Manager or `his designee.
