RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A CONTRIBUTION IN THE
AMOUNT OF 21,000 YENS FROM THE CITIZENS OF
CITY OF MIAMI SISTER CITY, KAGOSHIMA, JAPAN,
SAID CONTRIBUTION TO BE CONVERTED TO UNITED
STATES CURRENCY, WHICH IS EQUIVALENT TO
APPROXIMATELY $161.00, AND TO BE DEPOSITED IN
THE SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED "HURRICANE
ANDREW RELIEF ASSISTANCE".
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 11010 on
October 22, 1992, establishing the Hurricane Andrew Relief
Assistance Special Revenue Fund; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of City of Miami Sister City,
Kagoshima, Japan, more particularly, a group of students, through
the Kagoshima Speaking Society, have demonstrated their
compassion by collecting 21,000 yens, which is equivalent in
United States currency of approximately $161.00, to assist in the
rebuilding effect in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained. in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.

Section 2 . A contribution in the amount of 21,000 yens is
hereby accepted from the citi2ens of City of Miami Sister City,
Kagoshima, Japan, said contribution to be converted to United
States currency, which is equivalent to approximately $161.00,
and to be deposited in the Special Revenue Fund entitled
"Hurricane Andrew Relief Assistance".
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
