FOR ROBERT KING HIGH PARK BRIDGE REPAIRS AND ACCEPTING THE SECOND LOWEST BID, SUBMITTED BY SHORELINE FOUNDATION, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,638.00, FOR ROBERT KING HIGH PARK BRIDGE REPAIRS, PROJECT NO. B-2950, WITH MONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED FROM THE FISCAL YEAR 1991-92 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT ORDINANCE NO. 10938, PROJECT NO. 331315, IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,638.00 TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST AND $3,982.94 TO COVER THE ESTIMATED RELATED EXPENSES, FOR AN ESTIMATED TOTAL COST OF $34,620.94; FURTHER, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, WITH SAID SECOND LOWEST BIDDER FIRM. WHEREAS, Resolution No. 92-568 of the City of Miami, adopted September 24, 1992, accepted the bid of AARYA Construction and Design, Inc. and authorized the City Manager to execute a contract with said firm for the Robert King High Park Bridge Repairs, Project No. B-2950; and WHEREAS, AARYA Construction and Design, Inc. has indicated that it cannot perform the proposed work for the price stated in its bid to the City; and WHEREAS, time is of the essence in order for the City to meet its obligations, which rewire the opening of the north end CITY COMOSSION MEETING OF DEC 1 0 1992 Resolution, No. 92- 805 of Robert King High Park to the public and for vehicular access by January 15, 1993; and WHEREAS, the second lowest bid, submitted by Shoreline Foundation, Inc. on August 18, 1992, in the amount of $30,638.00 is aooeptable and said firm has confirmed that it can oompiete the bridge repairs by January 15, 1993; and WHEREAS, funding is available from the Fisoal Year 1991-92 Capital Improvement Ordinance No. 10938 of the City of Miami, as amended on January 23, 1992, for the amount of the second lowest bid and related contract expenses, under Project No. 331315 of said ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Resolution No. 92-568 which accepted the bid of AARYA Construction and Design, Inc. and authorized the City Manager to execute a contract with AARYA Construction and Design, Ino. for the Robert King High Park Bridge Repairs, Projeot No. B-2950, is hereby rescinded. Section 3. The second lowest bid, submitted by Shoreline Foundation, Inc., in the proposed amount of $30,638.00 for the project entitled Robert King High Park Bridge Repairs, Projeot No. 2950, based on lump sum and unit prices, is hereby accepted at the price stated herein. -2- 92- 805 Section 4. The total, estimated project cost of $34,620.94 is hereby allocated from the Fiscal Year 1991-92 Capital Improvement Ordinance No. 10938, Project No. 331315, said total project cost consisting of the $30,638.00 contract cost and $3,982.94 estimated related expenses to be incurred by the City. Section 8. The City Manager is hereby authorizedI/ to enter into a contract, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, on behalf of the City of Miami with Shoreline Foundation, Inc. for Robert King High Park Bridge Repairs, Project No. B-2980. Section 6. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this loth day of De��Armb� 1992.
