Home My WebLink AboutR-92-0479J92- .567 07-14-92 RESOLUTION NO. 4. 2 _. 479 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER'S DECISION TO REJECT THE PROTEST OF CEDARVILLE MANUFACTURING, INC., IN CONNECTION WITH BID NO. 91-92-063, TO PROVIDE RUBBISH PICKUP CRANES, AS IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED TO BE WITHOUT MERIT. WHEREAS, on March 23, 1992, the City of Miami advertised for bidsfor rubbish pickup cranes; and WHEREAS, on April 15, 1992, the City of Miami received ten (10 ) responses to said bid; and WHEREAS, after review, the City recommended for award The Mas Group, Inc., d/b/a/ Neff Machinery, the lowest, responsive bidder; and WHEREAS, in two letters dated June 26 and July 6, 1992, Cedarville Manufacturing, Inc., one of the bidders, protested this recommendation for award; and WHEREAS, the Chief Procurement Officer, pursuant to Section 18-56.1 of the City Code, in her role as arbiter, investigated the matter and determined that Cedarville Manufacturing, Inc.'s protest was without merit and has rejected the protest; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the City Attorney concur with and approve the finding of the Chief Procurement Officer and recommend rejection of the protest filed by Cedarville Manufacturing, Inc.; CITY COM 1USSI011 MEETING OF. J U L 1 6 1992 Resolution No, 9z- 479 : I 7 D. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Chief Procurement Officer's decision to reject the protest from Cedarville Manufacturing, Inc., in connection with Bid No. 91-92-063, for rubbish pickup cranes, is hereby approved. Section 3. Bids submitted past such deadline and/or submitted to any other location or office shall be deemed not responsive and will be rejected. Ordinance No. 10062, as amended, established a goal of Awarding 51% of the City's total dollar volume of all expenditures for All Goods and Services to Black, Hispanic and Women Minority Business Enterprises on an equal basis. Minority and women vendors who are interested in submitting bids and who are not registered with the City as minority or women vendors are advised to contact the City Procurement Office, 1390 N.W. 20th Street, Second Floor, Telephone 575-51.74.
