RESOLUTION NO
A RESOLUTION RELATED TO THE NATIONAL CYCLE
LEAGUE TITLE BICYCLE RACE TO BE CONDUCTED BY
THE MIAMI WHEELERS BICYCLE CLUB ON SUNDAY,
JULY 12, 1992; AUTHORIZING THE CLOSURE OF
DESIGNATED STREETS TO THROUGH VEHICULAR
TRAFFIC SUBJECT TO THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS BY
THE DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE AND FIRE, RESCUE AND
INSPECTION SERVICES; FURTHER CONDITIONING ALL
APPROVALS AND AUTHORIZATIONS GRANTED HEREIN
UPON THE ORGANIZERS PAYING FOR ALL NECESSARY
COSTS OF CITY SERVICES AND FEES ASSOCIATED
WITH SAID EVENT AND OBTAINING INSURANCE TO
PROTECT THE CITY IN THE AMOUNT AS PRESCRIBED
BY THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. In order to effeotuate safe passage during the
National Cycle League Title Bicycle Race, the following streets
are hereby closed to through vehicular traffic from 8:30 A.M. to
3:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 12, 1992, as specified below:
Biscayne Boulevard from Southeast First Street to
Northeast Fourth Street.
Included in the herein closure are all streets, avenues,
alleys, ways and thoroughfares which intersect the
enumerated areas delineated in this Section.
Section 2. Such closing of streets is subject to State
approval and issuance of permits by the Departments of Police and
Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services. Said permit from the
Department of Police is to be issued upon the full approval of

the Chief of Police after giving all due consideration to the
safety and traffio needs of residents, businesses and religious
institutions in the area for entering and crossing through said
arterials and upon the favorable exercise of the City Manager's
judgement predicated upon all factors set forth herein.
Section 3. The herein approvals and authorizations are
hereby conditioned upon the organizers paying for all necessary
costs of City services and fees associated with said event and
obtaining insurance to protect the City in the amount as
prescribed by the City Manager or his designee.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.

Dear Mr. Odio:
This year, the Miami Wheelers will be hosting the National Cycle
League Title Race on July 12th on Biscayne Boulevard between SE
1st St. and NE 4th St. in downtown Miami.
I respectfully request that our application for the necessary
street closures be included in the next City Commission agenda.
We plan no changes from the past several Miami Wheelers races at
this location in terms of times or street closure locations.
