WHEREAS, the Miami Police Department needs to purchase and install two (2) telephone couplers, in the amount of $14,160.00, - available under existing State of Florida Contract No. 725-630-90-1, from the Diotaphone Corporation; and F WHEREAS, said equipment shall provide for FCC required beep tones on all recorded lines; and WHEREAS, such telephone recordings are frequently used in court proceedings; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase have been previously allocated from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, Project No. 690001, Account Code No. 290977-840 pursuant to Resolution No. 91-499, adopted July 11, 1991; and CITY CO ,ISSION iJ£rTIh O3'r, J U L 0 9 1002 Acsolution No. R 9 41 WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Chief of Police recommend — that the purchase of said equipment from Diotaphone Corporation under existing State of Florida Contract No. 725-630-90-1, for a total proposed amount of $14, 160.00, be approved; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: — Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this = - t Section. Section 2. The purchase and installation of two (2) telephone couplers, under existing State of Florida Contract No. -- 725-630-90-1 from the Diotaphone Corporation in an amount not to = exceed $14,160.00 is hereby approved, said equipment to provide for FCC required beep tones on all recorded telephone lines for the Department of Police, using funds therefor as previously- = allocated from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, Project No. 890001, Account Code No. 290977-840 pursuant to Resolution No. 91-499 adopted July 11, 1991. - Section. 3 The City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue a purchase order -_ for said purchase. The funding source will be the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, Project No. 690001, Index Code 290977-840. The Police Department was authorized to purchase telephone couplers by Resolution No. 91-499. This equipment adds an FCC required beep tone to all recorded telephone lines. These telephone recordings are frequently used in court proceedings. Dictaphone Corporation has been awarded State Contract tlo. 725- 630-90-1, for the provision of this equipment, and meets the department's requirements and specifications. It is, therefore, recommended that the purchase be made from Dictaphone Corporation, in the amount of $14,160.
